Once the construction of your home is completed, a 3-month maintenance inspection will be booked in and any items requiring attention will be rectified.
In addition, you will receive a 12-month Emergency Home Assist package from the RACV, providing rapid response 24/7, 365 days a year!
Once your house is complete you will be advised by your site supervisor to conduct a practical completion report, once this report has been actioned, it’s at this time a handover date is scheduled.
You are welcome to visit your site however due to OH&S requirements, you need to provide at least 48 hrs notice as a Banksia Homes representative must be present.
As part of our Health & Safety policy we do not permit external trades persons to conduct work onsite. Our insurance also does not extend to external trades or materials not sourced by Banksia Homes.
Your building coordinator will be in regular contact with you throughout the entire process. Should you have any queries or concerns, you can contact your respective building coordinator anytime during business hours between 9am -5pm Monday to Friday

Invoices are due within 7 days of the issued date. If you cannot make payment within this time, please contact the Accounts Department prior to the due date to notify of your circumstances. We note that late payments attract interest at 25% per annum pro rata and interest will only be waived in exceptional circumstances with Management discretion.
Please forward your invoice to your Financier as soon as you have received it. This will allow them to process your claim and make a payment in a timely manner before the due date.
Throughout the building process, you will be required to make progress payments at certain stages of construction. There are six payments to be made:
Payments are due after each stage of construction has been completed. An invoice will be sent out to you. Your finance professional and customer care representative will confirm your schedule of progress payments and assist in identifying your building expenses so you will understand when payments are due.

You are not allowed to build any permanent structure over or within close proximity of an easement because a service authority has the right to gain access to the easement for maintenance or replacement of the service.
You will need formal approval before you can build or work on any new or existing structure, on or near an easement.

Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is payable by the landowner in some residential estates prior to the issue of a building permit. CIL helps cover the cost of infrastructure, facilities and services in new communities including outdoor recreation areas, community centres, libraries, schools or transport improvements needed to support new homes and businesses.
An email will be sent to you before the file goes to site from our Customer Care Department which will include a copy of each of these documents that should be forwarded to your Financier. If you are unable to locate this, please contact the Customer Care Department.
Some housing estates throughout Victoria will require your designs to be formally approved before you can obtain a Building Permit. This is to maintain a consistent standard and character within the estate and to ensure it aligns with the desired aesthetics of the estate.
Guidelines can include specific exterior colour schemes, facades, materials, setbacks etc.
Sales Consultant –who will assist you with selecting the design for your new home and will assist with all enquiries until contract signing.
Building Coordinator – will be your main point of contact during your pre-site stage and for any enquiries in relation to your documentation.
Site Supervisor – will be your main point of contact during your on-site stage of the process right up to the handing over of your new home.
